BACKGROUND

• Art and Design
With a rich background in fine arts, graphic arts, and set design, Niko Vilaivongs has crafted visually stunning environments for national broadcast commercials for clients such as Budlight Lime-A-Rita, Cadillac, and United Airlines. Her talent for translating scripts into immersive environments shines through in her work on numerous long form movies, including theatrical releases like the action-packed “Escape Plan 2: Hades” starring Sly Stallone and Dave Bautista, the horror comedy “Meet the Blacks” featuring Mike Epps and the romantic comedy “The Perfect Match” with Terrance Jenkins and Cassie Ventura.

Niko’s continuous engagement with cutting-edge technology keeps her current in the film industry. This includes work on volume stages, underwater sets, and designing engineered stunt sets. She is experienced in intergrating tangible sets with digital worlds which showcases her ability to work with current technology and innovations.

Advised by legendary Art Director Robert Boyle (North by Northwest, The Birds) and trained in film design by Oscar winner Gene Allen (My Fair Lady), Niko brings a deeply collaborative work ethic to every project. She works closely with directors, creative producers, cinematographers, costume designers, VFX supervisors, and department heads to build cohesive visual worlds. With extensive on-location experience, she excels at discovering local talent and assembling strong art departments worldwide. Niko thrives in the ever changing demands of production and is committed to bringing each vision to life with precision.

• Photography
In addition to her design work, Niko has been passionate about photography since the age of six. Growing up in Los Angeles, she began capturing moments with a Polaroid and minolta 35mm camera. This lifelong hobby turned professional in 2022, with Niko photographing fashion and beauty editorials for prestigious clients such as Prada Beauty, Gucci, and Guess Originals, among others.

AFFILIATIONS

Niko is a union member of the Art Directors Guild and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the esteemed organization responsible for the Emmys. In addition, she serves as Vice President of the Alliance of Entertainment Designers and Artists (AEDA), an independent nonprofit 501(c)(6) mutual benefit corporation dedicated to celebrating and elevating the achievements of artists and designers across all forms of entertainment.
